Did you know that all your feelings are okay?

It's true!

Meet Kirsten

I love working with kids! They teach me so much every day. Their laughter, honesty and curiosity keep me on my toes. It's so important to teach our kids early on that feelings are just feelings and it's okay to express them. In fact, being able to express what we feel is critical for our mental health.

I was privileged to have been taught by some of the best teachers and administrators in the realm of education for young children and families. To those Paidea staff I am eternally grateful.

I enjoy writing and designing all of my books. It fulfills my need for creativity.

Book One

Everybody Feels is the first book in the three-book series about emotions. It introduces the concept of feelings to young children or others who are just beginning their feelings journey. Simple language, large, colorful and diverse images give this book its charm.

Book Two

Everyday Emotions is the second book in the series based loosely on Bloom's taxonomy. It gives a short review of the basics of emotions, then expands to explore how your child would feel in specific situations. Beyond that it introduces the concept that not everyone feels the same way in identical happenings.

Book Three

Accepting Emotions is the third book in the series. It expands on the concept that all your feelings are okay to include that the feelings of others are equally valid. By comparing events to which children can relate and associating them with more than one emotion, Accepting Emotions gives them concrete examples to explain the idea. And, it is in this exercise that the seeds to becoming a critical thinker are planted.
